Toby and the Gators
Toby is playing fall ball. Yep, he had his first practice tonight. He has never played any type of organized sport or even a backyard sport for that matter. We signed him up late but they had room. His coach is from Florida and of course is a Florida Gators fan. No prob with that here! chomp, chomp
The coach and his assistants seem to be very good with young kids. Toby is the tallest one on the team. He did very well. The coaches took him off to the side and taught him each thing individually while the others were practicing. See the practice season had already started. Some kids have played before of course. They have a scrimmage game Saturday.
He had alot of fun. he hit the ball well too considering it was his first time. They practiced running bases at the end of practice. I told Toby he was going to have to run faster. I told him he needed to run like a dog was chasing him because he would have been caught by a dog tonight.
I had a 95% pain free day today. I have hurt for a long time now. I worked my tail off today. I was afraid I might have overdid it. I'm gonna sleep good tonight. We have a new guy at work. He is an older man and says he's an electrician. I say this because he is obviously experienced and not a helper. I ran circles around him today. Seriously I ran about 4 times as much conduit as him. I love working hard and getting alot done. It's a competitive thing for me.

back to work
Today I eased out of bed and went back to work. It was difficult. I am not used to not being able to do certain things. This pleurisy has me hindered. I am handicapped. It did get me out of unloading a truck full of conduit though. Cool! I did take it easy and didn't get in a big hurry. I just took my time and made it through the day. I was surprised because I had a hard time. Maybe tomorrow will be better. I am having some pain though and I hope I get some rest tonight.
I had mentioned previosuly about having my own clothing line. I still think this would be a great idea. Remember those blue felt like tennis shoes from the early 80's with the white stripes? We called them buddies. I kinda think they may have been some early Adidas but I was too young to know. Well I think I should bring that style back with my "Full Quiver" logo.

Toby is 8
Today our oldest son Toby is 8 years old. He was born Aug. 19, 1998. His full name is Brian Toby Maxwell Page. Toby is a boy for sure. He likes to get rowdy, play video games, and rough house with his siblings. He is truly kind, polite, and tenderhearted though. I thank God for Toby and the blessing he has been to me over the past 8 years. God healed him of seizures in 2002. He suffered badly for some 8 months or more but one day God intervened on his behalf.
Hopefully Toby will have a happy birthday. He is already enjoying some of the gifts he received. He is looking forward to the chicken taco dinner, what he likes, and the cake that we are having later.
Happy Birthday Toby!!!

ouch
Well it turns out that my back and rib pain is contributed to pneumonia and a pleurisy in my lung. The pain has drastically subsided at this time. Let's hope it stays that away. The hospital, MTMC, gave me a steroid shot and something else. One was for pain and one was to relax my muscles. Last night I was a bit high I guess you could say. I don't however think that the pain killer has lasted this long, 16-17 hours. I know that literally hundreds of people are praying for moi. I am so grateful for that and I believe that I am feeling the effects of those prayers today. I was given a prescription for a strong pain killer which I don't want to fill or take. The prayers are working fine I believe.
A CT Scan revealed that I have no blockages, no clots. That's amazing considering the diet of fast and fried foods that I have been on for some 15 years now. Thank the Lord! I guess it's time to start eating right while I am ahead. MTMC was a top notch experience. I had heard bad things about them in the past and was somewhat leary about going there but it being less than 10 minutes away and the next hospital (a for profit) was some 25 minutes away I felt I needed to get some care. I thought I was going to seize up from the pains and spasms. I was not able to breath well at all which caused panic. They drew blood and gave me an iv all in less than 5 seconds. That's not an exaggeration. No pain!
I got a great night's sleep last night for the first time in awhile. I did cough a few times which was strange. I usually don't and it was wierd having been told I have pneumonia and have for quite sometime. Wendy has helped me through this. Without her I would have wasted away. She deserves some praise and a vacation. I love her so much. She did keep making me laugh, on purpose, and not because a merry heart doeth good like a medicine but to make me hurt worse. She thought it was funny. Let me provide a picture of her that made me laugh with pain.

Sunday afternoon
I watched as some church folks played softball. I had to sit it out because of my back and rib. I was trying to rest up good for work today. I came home and took a nap only to wake up to a crick in my neck where I slept funny. My back was comfy though. Last night I relapsed a bit though and could not get comfy. My rib was killing me and there was alot of pressure in my back. I laid on the bed awhile, then in the recliner, and then I moved back to the bed where I awoke this morn. I am not used to this. Normally I sleep all night long and just roll over once or twice in my sleep. I feel much better now than I did last night but I still need a healing. I have got to get back to work.
Saturday night

We celebrated my grandmother's 75th birthday Saturday night. Her and her twin sister are the oldest of all their siblings. All the siblings are alive but one brother who died several years ago. Their mother, my great grandmother, is still alive as well. She was there at the party. Oddly enough a school teacher of theirs was there also. WHOA! She had to be ancient. She didn't look that old either. They say she still teaches. It was funny watching my cousins because they all had the lady as a teacher as well. They were all whispering and pointing. Kinda funny!
Grandma was told it was a family reunion. She was surprised. A barbeque dinner was catered but since they thought it was a reunion my grandma's sister cooked alot of food. She said some people needed to repent. Funny coming from a baptist. They all seemed to have a good time. Dad showed old home movies from nearly 30 years ago that were taken down at great grandma's old farm. He had footage of great grandpa who died in 1984. It was kinda sad. I suppose many of the relatives had not seen it and had only seen still photos since his passing.
The party was a good take me back. Made ya feel young again and kinda made you wanna be young again. Dad had the family tree traced back to England on this side of the family. The Fuson family, grandma's maiden name, has some serious longevity. The whole night was cool. We all use to get together often but it has been awhile since I have seen most of them.
Great grandma still owns the land that has been in the family well over 100 years. She has over 600 acres on Center Hill lake. They always farmed it, logged it, and such. It was fun as a child just to run, play, and be adventureous there. Grandma being the oldest had to help farm. It's neat that we both ran and played on the same plot of land. I hope the land always stays in the family.
As for the new profile pic...it was taken during the party as were several other funny pics. Grandma is in the red in the above pic. Her twin sister Barbie is on the right.

beating not over yet
I am dying. Somehow I got a muscle spasm or something in my back during the stomach virus. It gradually got worse and seemed to peak last night. Of course work didn't help yesterday but I had to be there. I was screaming in pain last night. The problem is in the mid section of my back and worked itself around my rib cage. It was cramping up and compressing my rib cage thus causing me to not be able to take deep breaths without serious pain. Wendy applied a wintergreen rub to the sore areas and it numbed it and loosened it up. I was able to sleep in the recliner that she so graciously moved into our bedroom, I awoke early this morning and took a hot shower that really helped also. A shower was out of the question last night considering I could not do much of anything without worsening the pain.
Many people are praying for me and for that I am thankful. I was so afraid Wen would have to call an ambulance in the middle of the night. I did not want that. She's dropping me off at the YMCA this afternoon so I can go in the steam room, maybe, and sit in the hottub. I hope ii's not too busy.

taken a beating this week
My body has taken a beating this week. I was ill last Tuesday. I had gout Friday and Saturday. I had a stomach virus Monday. Now, well for the past three days and worsening, I have a serious back ache. It hurts so bad. I can barely squat. It hurts to roll over in bed. It hurts to turn around. Just about everything hurts except sitting still.

Sometimes
Sometimes I am just blown away by people especially Christian people and their feelings of inferiority. Maybe I will explain later.
